SHIFT TECHNICIAN/ENGINEER (Mechanical Bias / Multi Skilled) Nestlé UK Tutbury, Derbyshire.
The Nestlé Tutbury site is the home of Nescafé and the birth place of Dolce Gusto. As part of a multi million pound investment into the site we are currently building a new state of the art freeze-dry department through which we will become the coffee centre of excellence for the UK.
We are currently recruiting Shift Technicians/Engineers with a Mechanical bias or multi skilled background for this flagship factory. The role will be within the process plant maintaining the site equipment from the roasting department through to the freeze dry process, working in hot and freezing environments. All PPE will be provided, and Health & Safety procedures followed.
Working a Continental Shift Pattern – 12 Hour Shifts – 3 On 3 Off
Salary: 37-40k pa (plus factory bonus and excellent benefits)
Job purpose:
You will be responsible for the maintenance of site equipment and systems in accordance with health and safety, quality and food hygiene standards. You will provide quick and effective, reactive breakdown maintenance of site equipment as well as being involved in the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of all equipment.
Must Haves:
An apprenticeship with paperwork to show this was successfully completed and hold C&G Level 2, NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline.
Preferred: Experience maintaining pumps, valves, heat exchanges, steam raising equipment and other such process equipment
Strong Fault finding skills
Highly numerate and literate.
Advanced PC Skills (MS Office).
Computerised Maintenance Management System knowledge
Role Accountabilities:
1. You will also be heavily involved with working with Senior Engineers, Maintenance Planners and Shift Managers to run the maintenance department efficiently and have the opportunity get involved in continuous improvements projects for the site..
2. Put own and others’ safety as a priority by working safely and maintaining a safe and healthy environment adhering to Company and site rules and guidelines 3. Coach & develop technical operators with fault finding analysis & basic mechanical tasks.
4. Continuously improve our standards and plant performance and raise purchase requisitions for approval as deemed necessary.
5. Ensure an involvement in the risk assessment of all engineering routine tasks and to use a dynamic risk assessment approach to all non-routine tasks. Follow correct isolation & lock-off procedure.
6. . Actively participate in Focused Improvement activities (ensuring effective handovers, leading Go See Think Do activities, problem solving exercises and participating in DOR/SOR)
7. Respond to and minimize breakdowns against target
8. Deliver the planned maintenance schedule on time
