Seeking dynamic Ground Operations Manager to lead a skilled team in Baghdad for our client's innovative new airline, ensuring seamless ground services and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Management and overall supervision of the Ground Operations Department to support safe and efficient flight operations: a key role in the Company SMS.
- On-going review and updating of the Ground Operations Procedures Manual, Operations Staff Instructions (OSIs), Operations Department procedures and other documents required for the safe operation of flights.
- In conjunction with the Deputy Ground Operations Manager, directing the work of the Operations staff while maintaining their welfare, discipline and efficiency.
- Maintaining a suitable awareness of relevant operating and commercial costs, in order to allow sensible evaluation of alternative operational options.
- Oversight of crew FTL records in order to ensure that crews are scheduled within the appropriate Flight Duty Periods and in accordance with the Company’s Flight Time Limitations (FTL) scheme.
- Ensuring Discretion Reports are completed and, where applicable, forwarded to the relevant authority.
- Oversight of Flight Crew qualifications, validity and expiry dates.
- Ensuring that operating crew members’ required training items are current and informing the Head of Training and Standards when checks are due.
- Training of Ground Operations Department staff and maintenance of training records for those staff.
- Oversight of all Journey Logs and Discretion Reports, ensuring that they are directed to Senior Management in accordance with Company procedures.
- Ensuring that Returned Flight Documentation is checked to ensure compliance and to ensure that all such documentation is adequately stored.
- The planning of delivery and ferry flights.
- In conjunction with the Flight Operations Department, the preparation and maintenance of aircraft documents.
- The oversight of Ground Handling, including Contracted and Sub-contracted Activity.
- Ensuring regular Departmental audits are carried out to comply with the requirements of OMA Section 3.
- Maintenance of the Company Library to include Company Permissions, Approvals, Variations and Exemptions.
- Liaising with relevant government authorities as necessary.
- Monitoring, receipt and distribution of all information, documentation and Regulation relevant to the Ground Operations department.
- Manage and oversee the Customer Services Manager and department, including all responsibilities therein.
- Translate service vision into guest experience standards for the entire end to end of the ground experience such as check-in, bag drop, security, transfers, lounges, shopping and boarding.
- Participate in best practice on guest experience design for airports and ground experience with a focus on On-Time Performance (OTP), reduction of pain points, disruption management, service recovery and driving unique signature experiences.
- Be involved in projects, policy formulation and data analytics to improve service quality and drive innovation in the airport experience.
- Support operating teams on establishing service level agreement standards for third-party service providers.
- Ensure the compliance with local and international regulatory requirements, through verification of training programs and implementation of procedures and operating policies.
Requirements
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience, preferably with strong guest service orientation, and proven track record of professionalism and accomplishment with a leading airline in guest experience, branding and product development.
- 5 years of experience in a comparable managerial position
- Previous Post-holder / Nominated Person experience
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Design, Marketing or any related field.
- Post-graduation qualification will be an added advantage.
- Hold a flight dispatcher license with A320 TR is an advantage
