We are looking for a Ruya Batch 1 Lead Project Marine for one of our clients with the following details:  

 Location: Doha

Doha Logistics allowance: SINGLE status

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Master Mariner with DP experience is a must
  • Experience as Chief Engineer, Marine Warranty Surveyor, Merchant Naval Officer / Engineer, or Degree Equivalent will be considered
  • 12 years of marine & offshore installation experience in offshore vessels
  • 5 years in O&G Projects (as Contractor and/or Client)
  • IMCA DP Company Authority with demonstrable knowledge of DP systems, operations, trials and standards is desirable.
  • Broad and extensive knowledge of marine operations in support of offshore oil and gas field development activity
  • Highly knowledgeable in international maritime regulations, standards, and codes
  • Experienced in delivering and monitoring marine assurance and competency processes.

Activities

HSE

  • Install an Incident Free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure all activities carried out under the supervision of the role comply with the companies HSE policy.
  • Propose, implement, and monitor strategies and technology to support the companies GHG reduction targets.
  • Lead Marine Incident Investigations and reporting processes, ensuing identification of root causes and capturing of lessons learned.

Financial 

  • Support the Head, Marine Logistics and Head, Project Offshore Operations in budget management and forecasting to maintain expenditure within approved business plans.
  • Install a cost focus culture to ensure sustainable value is delivered.
  • Promote the improvement of cost efficiency within the area of responsibility.

Operations 

  • Implement, document and monitor a robust marine vetting, assurance and approval program, ensuring all watercraft and crew mobilised in support of Major Projects activity meet and maintain full compliance with international codes, classification society, flag state, local regulations, and company procedures.
  • Ensure CMS rules, standards, policies, and guidelines covering marine crew and watercraft are in place, applied and monitored in accordance with international regulations and standards, classification society, flag state, local regulations, and company procedures.
  • Through effective contract management, ensure vessels chartered by NOC and their respective operators are in full compliance with procedural and contractual requirements.
  • For any other watercrafts subcontracted by MP EPC Contractors, ensure the same full compliance through close coordination with respective EPC Package/Project team within MP.
  • Review and comment technical documents submitted by MP EPC Contractors and respond to relevant technical queries when required.
  • Challenge any technical deviations against company standards and liaise closely with the companies Marine TRP for their approval.
  • Facilitate resolution orientated communication and lead the engagement among critical stakeholders to identify and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the duet is supported in all marine call for tenders for Major Projects, supporting the creation of technical requirements and technical evaluations.
  • Support operational changes, delivering solution to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Monitor MP marine activities and assess potential clashes between MP EPC CTRs or with other entities (NOC, QE, QE LNG…); Advise MP management and Package/Project Manager to minimize downtime by proposing alternative solutions and/or mitigations.
  • Develop and present KPI’s covering watercraft and contractor performance against contractual requirements.
  • Ensure the Head, Marine Logistics and Head, Project Offshore Operations are provided with weekly highlights, concerns and lookaheads.
  • Ensure project teams & key stakeholders are supported with knowledge of operational standards, safety protocols and best practices in support of their marine operations.
