Role Description

The Technical Manager provides technical support to the customers with the aim to support the sales in the designated geographic area. This includes aquaculture advice, aqua technical and product training, education and service in case of technical problems or product complaints..

Location: Mekong Delta - Vietnam

Position Responsibilities

Technical support to customer:

• Provides technical support to the fish farm, and is responsible for adequate technical expertise of the sales team (KAM) which includes technical product information, disease diagnosis, vaccination and medication schedules & procedures, and general health programs
• Maintains close contact with farms, providing technical support, solving technical field problems, and training their staff on technical subjects when appropriate.
• Answer questions and other enquiries from the company staff, customers about veterinary technical issues.
• Responsible for the professional handling of day-to-day aquaculture issues, pharmacovigilance and product complaint.

Technical & market update 

• Monitors field disease situation, the emergence of new diseases, and new disease control policies. Communicates new trends to the relevant people.
• Provides necessary technical information on competitor products, and advises the team on product positioning.
• Responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, supervision and reporting of marketing field studies on (new) products, in cooperation with Marketing & Sales team.
• Represents the company at specialized seminars, congresses, exhibitions and workshops in the designated area.
• Gives presentations at congresses, symposia and seminars about aquaculture technical subjects.
• Establishes and maintains contacts with scientific institutes, authorities and other opinion leaders relevant to the field of expertise and relate important issues
• Monitors and analyses aquaculture industry and (scientific) publications. Forwards relevant information to the relevant people

People management & development:

• Assigns technical technician/executive daily/weekly working plan to ensure performance of designated geographic area.
• Provides guidance to technical technician/executive on relevant technical issues
• Develops technical team competencies
