This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on advanced data cabling, network installation, and security system integration for high-profile defence projects. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience and formal training in data communications while contributing to vital security initiatives.

About the role:

This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills and gain hands on experience in:

  • Installation & Maintenance – Support the installation, termination, and testing of fibre optic and data cables. Assist with setting up and maintaining security and surveillance systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control.
  • Networking & System Support – Learn to install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware such as switches, routers, and servers while supporting secure system integration.
  • System Integration & Testing – Assist in integrating security and communication systems with existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation. Participate in system testing, fault finding, and performance assessments.
  • Technical Documentation & Reporting – Help document cabling layouts, network configurations, and system details for project records. Contribute to compliance reports and testing documentation for installed systems.
  • Safety & Compliance – Adhere to strict workplace health and safety regulations, particularly when handling sensitive equipment, and ensure compliance with defence industry protocols.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong interest in technology, networking, and security systems, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, troubleshoot basic technical issues, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights while following strict safety procedures.
  • Punctual, reliable, and a team player who maintains professionalism.
  • A valid Driver's Licence, vehicle and white card
