My client is offering a contract opportunity for experienced Slingers to join their team based at their Devonport site. You will undertake Slinging activities on Fleet Time & Upkeep projects within Warships & Submarine Business units but may be required to work on other projects as necessary.

Hourly Rate: Competitive
Location: Devonport
IR35 Status: Inside
Contract: 12 months
Hours: 35 hrs per week 
Security clearance: SC required.

Responsibilities
 

• Undertake Slinging activities on Fleet Time & Upkeep projects within Warships & Submarine Business units
• Assist in fleeting operations on submarines and warships
• Produce Basic Lift Plans and Fleeting Plans to
• Follow written instructions as detailed in a Lift Plan
• Ensuring safe exclusion zones are set up around lifting operations
• Can inspect lifting equipment and quarantine non-conforming items

Qualifications:
One of the following -
 

• NVQ level 2 in Marine Engineering (Movement of Loads)
• NPORS 402 Slinger/Signaller
• CPCS Blue /A40
• Opito Slinger/Signaller
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an afloat environment

Experience:
 

• Previous experience working in a marine environment
• Knowledge of submarines and warships layouts
• Willingness to undertake development training as identified in a competency framework
• Ability to read and understand a Functional Procedures
