Aircraft Wheels and Brakes Workshop Mechanic (BBBH16148) Burgess Hill, England

Salary: GBP25000 - GBP25000 per annum + Benefits

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Aircraft Wheels and Brakes Workshop Mechanic to join on a permanent basis. As the Workshop Mechanic, you will be carrying out a variety of functions sometimes physically demanding to ensure production targets are met whilst recognising, reacting, and supporting the company needs.

Role: Aircraft Wheels and Brakes Workshop Mechanic
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Contract: Monday – Friday – 08:00 – 16:30
Location: Outskirts of Burgess Hill, West Sussex

Responsibilities
 

  • Full disassembly of aircraft wheels.
  • Initial test and disassemble of aircraft brakes
  • Dismounting of aircraft tyres from wheels
  • Technical cleaning of all wheel and brake components with the use of workshop machinery.
  • Operation of the paint removal machines.
  • Reassembly of wheels, mounting of aircraft tyres including torquing, inflation, and pressure testing.
  • Reassembly of brake units, function testing and fault isolation.
  • Reading and understanding of component maintenance manuals and following technical instructions.

Education and Experience:
 

  • Have a mechanical background or can demonstrate a keen mechanical/engineering interest.
  • Good hand eye coordination.
  • Basic hand tool knowledge.
  • Enjoy a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Fluent oral and written English.
  • GSCE pass in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
