Repair Stress Engineer

Repair Stress Engineer (BBBH14250) Filton, England

Salary: GBP40 - GBP50 per hour

My client is looking for a Repair Stress Engineer to join on them on a 5 month contract. As a Repair Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for static strength analysis and justification of metallic and composite structures. You will ensure adherence to airworthiness regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods and manufacturing capabilities guidelines.
Role: Repair Stress Engineer
Pay: £40.00-44.00 for Non-Approvers and £46.00-50.00 for Approvers per hour via Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Location: Filton (3 days onsite and 2 days WFH)
Contract: 5 months
Hours: 35 hours per week Monday – Friday (across 4.5 days working between 7-7 at business discretion)
Security Clearance: BPSS

Job Profile
We are a dynamic multifunctional team delivering structural repairs and repair processes to support the Airbus fleet including A400M. We work closely together to provide complex repairs in support of planned major repair activities, Major Test programmes and fleet issues. We enjoy the challenge of creating and delivering repairs for any sort of damage, anywhere on the wing!
• Work closely with design and F&DT engineers to assess and validate repairs to damaged aircraft structures.
• Using Airbus approved methods and tools to perform structural static strength analysis of repairs.
• Creating and compiling justification reports and associated engineering documentation.
• Working closely with skilled designers to develop optimum repairs.
• Knowledge of ISAMI and Mathcad
• Ideally repairs experience

Skills/Experience Required
Essential
• Experiences as an aerospace structural analysis engineer, with experience of how airframe repairs are developed and justified.
• Enjoy working as part of a team to develop effective solutions to complex technical problems and ensure efficient delivery of tasks.
• Aerospace Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience.
• Experience of static analysis of aircraft structures using a range of hand and computer methods.
• An understanding of the fundamental methods of static stress analysis and an ability to develop these methods.
• Knowledge and experience of using Airbus static strength analysis tools and methods (including ISAMI and Mathcad).
• Experience of compiling static strength justification reports to Airbus standards and ways of working.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). Desirable
• Able to meet A400M accreditation requirements.
• Be conversant with technical requirements for repair design.
• Be comfortable working with and manipulating large datasets.
• Delegated signature for structural analysis.
• Demonstrated problem solving ability

Education & Training

  • Essential – Strong experience in a similar role
  • Aerospace engineering degree (or equivalent) + engineering experience
  • Aviation experience
