Sales Executive

Sales Executive (BBBH14544) West Sussex, England

My client is looking for a Sales Executive to join on them on a permanent basis. As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for key operational processes within the Sales department, to include:
Core recovery, invoicing, contact management and closure of third-party exchanges.
Provide excellent customer service with reference to applicable General Terms Agreements and Exchange agreements.
Combine with an appreciation of credit risk, margin calculation and understanding of commission structures.

Role:  Sales Executive
Pay: £Competitive salary per annum PAYE plus a competitive sales commission structure.
Location: West Sussex
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35.7 hours per week Monday – Friday (Hybrid is an option at business discretion 3 days onsite and 2 days WFH)

Job Profile
Work as part of a team with responsibility for delivering sales targets. A Sales Executive is expected to proactively quote and seek out commercial opportunities in-line with the broader business strategy.
As an experienced member of Sales team, we expect Sales Executives to have an existing network of customer relationships with whom they can do business. A Sales Executive must also be able to broker transactions, in addition to quoting material from stock.
This is a dynamic role and further responsibilities may be added to support Sales activity in future in negotiation with the role holder. This position is vital to the achievement of company revenue and differentiated customer service objectives. The holder of the position will be required to take responsibility for a variety of processes and to work, with support, toward identifying any opportunities to make those processes more efficient to administer.

  • Monitor the Sales inbox and ILS
  • Source and quote material (incl. researching and offering alternate PNs where applicable)
  • Research and offer logistical solutions
  • Identify cores, resolve quarantine or trace issues and close third-party exchanges through negotiation with suppliers
  • Provide assistance in ensuring payment for services provided
  • Monitor and ensure satisfactory organisational response to any customer query received including escalation as required and regular feedback
  • Raising RMAs where appropriate
  • Manage and grow customer base to meet financial targets
  • Build internal relationships to support business goals
  • Assist in the training of junior members of staff
  • Support ad-hoc requests from senior management where relevant


Skills/Experience Required

  • Able to work within a team
  • Detail oriented with good time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Minimum 3 years experience in industry-relevant role
  • Previous sales experience required
  • Existing end user relationships
  • Familiarity with relevant systems: Quantum; ILS in particular
  • Possesses negotiation skills and uses them to contain costs and improve efficiency
  • Ability to broker opportunities in addition to quoting from stock
  • Recognises key organisational challenges and enhances development of a ‘one company’ perspective through active promotion of co-ordination between internal departments
  • The role may require international travel to visit clients on-site or attend industry events
