SHIFT MANAGER - 3 month contract (With potential to extend)

FMCG MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY

WIGAN AREA

Days - Monday to Friday

£18 - £20 per hour

Role Description

• Maintain the site at ‘audit ready’ level at all times by conducting weekly audits and ensuring that audit targets for your specific area of responsibility are met and/or exceeded.
• Ensure your staff are fully trained in Safe Systems of Work and Standard Operating Procedures and regularly review to maintain adherence to these processes.
• Support in the development and improvement of Safe Systems of Work.
• Investigate all quality issues that may arise and proactively seek ways to improve quality systems to prevent reoccurrence of any issues.
• Liaise with other relevant departments to enable us to achieve the delivery of the best quality product at the appropriate costs.
• Accountability for the production operation and ensuring the appropriate speeds, efficiency and costs are maintained.
• Undertake day to day management of your team including training, inductions, absence management, performance and capability management and conduct issues.
• Responsibility for labour requirements ensuring adequate cover during normal working and holiday periods.
• Responsibility for the Time Recording System for your staff ensuring appropriate use of such and any issues are appropriately investigated and are correctly recorded for Payroll purposes.
• Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience.

Skills and Qualifications

• Team Leader / Supervisory / Management Qualification / Relevant Experience
• IOSH Managing Safely Qualification - Preferred
• Experience of working within production in FMCG / Automated Environments - ESSENTIAL 
• Experience of managing a large team on a shift basis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Continuous Improvement experience or exposure preferred
