GSK are looking for trainee pharmacists, i.e., graduates wishing to complete their professional training year within the Pharmaceutical Industry, to join our teams based in either Manufacturing, Research & Development (R&D) or Regulatory Affairs. There are roles available in both London and Ware. You will be able to enter a location/role preference on the application form, we will accommodate your preference where possible.
Your placement will comprise of a 6-month training period at one of the GSK sites in West London or Hertfordshire (Ware) and the remaining 6 months via links with our community partners, Boots and Day Lewis. Throughout your placement, whether in industry or community, you will contribute to the running of the pharmacy or industry teams. In addition, you will attend organised study days with other trainee pharmacists, gaining knowledge through group training sessions.
During the placement, you will cover all the GPhC interim learning outcomes. In addition, you will start to develop other transferable skills such as time management, presentation and communication skills. Overall, the year aims to develop you into a high-quality, well-rounded pharmacist.
GSK Trainee Pharmacist Placement – Manufacturing (Location: Ware)
We have opportunities based in manufacturing teams at our manufacturing facilities in Hertfordshire (Ware).
For your industry placement, you will be placed in a team and assist in the introduction of new commercial medicines or support the manufacturing of medicines currently commercialised on a global scale. At Ware you’ll be working on GSK’s respiratory and oral solid dose portfolio.
GSK Trainee Pharmacist Placement – Research & Development (Location: Ware)
We have opportunities based in research and development laboratories at our R&D site in Hertfordshire (Ware).
For your industry placement, you may be placed in either our Clinical Supply Chain Group, where you will be in a team managing clinical trials for medicines in development, or our Drug Product Development Group, where you will be in a team involved in medicine/drug product formulation and/or process development (which may include some lab-based work).
GSK Trainee Pharmacist Placement – Regulatory Affairs (Location: London)
We have opportunities based in Regulatory Affairs which will at our new head office in Central London.
For your industry placement, you will be placed in a regulatory team and assist in post-approval activities to ensure product licenses remain in compliance with regulatory authorities globally. You will be able to develop an understanding of drug dosage forms, regulatory agency guidelines, regulatory expectations and the principles of the regulatory review processes in Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets.
Preferred skills required for this role:
