We are recruiting for a Workshop Manager based locally to Coalville, Leicestershire.
Salary £45,000 per annum plus an annual bonus.

Main responsibilities
- Progress and maintain work through the workshop, prioritising repairs in line with customers’ and/or business demands managed effectively
- Minimise vehicle downtime by identifying the most economical repair method both in time and cost.
- Supervising technical repairs and advising or assisting technicians with best repair methods. Including performing quality checks of vehicles and vehicle repairs.
- Use inhouse IT systems to manage and allocate workshop resource. Including validating workshop technician hours and controlling overtime.
- Provide prompt and accurate repair and damage quotations
- Encourage good workshop practices to provide a safe and tidy, hazard-free working environment ensuring compliance with the Company’s health & safety policy re: accurate data recording of equipment expiries e.g. ladder logs, axle stand test etc.
- Identify and procure best value vehicle parts and workshop equipment as required.
- Ensure all staff follow Company procedures and adhere to servicing and inspection schedules set out by the Company.
- Make available to and encourage all workshop staff to read all service bulleting and product updates both from manufacturers and internal and encourage staff input.
- Identify opportunities to explore the manufacturer’s warranty and goodwill schemes to best advantage.
- Generate third party revenue from service and repairs for the workshop from new and existing customers, increasing year on year
- Parts ordering, management of internal stock and stock from external suppliers.
Qualifications
- “Time Served” technician and with a technical background, ideally in a waste tanker or similar environment but tanker expertise is not essential.
- Strong experience in communicating with internal and external customers / stakeholders; always with the highest levels of professionalism
- Experience in managing parts/equipment procurement and parts stocking.
- High level of enthusiasm and commitment to driving 100% customer satisfaction
- Excellent communication skills/ability to communicate at all levels with good use of questioning techniques
- Highly competent with IT systems, including MS Excel. manage all technician resource and purchase order raising using internal digital systems and therefore a good candidate must be experienced and confident in working with similar systems.
- High level of organisation, ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

- Analytical and numerical approach to interpreting data
- Driving Licence – Full and valid
