We are looking for a Field Service Manager for one of our clients with the following details:

Roles & Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Lead and manage field service teams, including technicians and engineers.
  • Allocate and coordinate tasks and resources for optimal team performance.
  • Ensure that staff adheres to safety standards, maintenance schedules, and operating procedures.

Maintenance Oversight:

  • Plan and execute maintenance activities (both preventive and corrective) for smelting equipment, including furnaces, transformers, and electrical systems.
  • Ensure the reliability and longevity of smelting machinery and equipment by maintaining a high standard of operational efficiency.

Operational Support:

  • Provide technical support during production issues or shutdowns, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in the field to ensure quick resolution.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Implement and monitor safety procedures for field service staff in hazardous environments.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.

Customer Relations:

  • Act as the point of contact between the smelter and external service providers or contractors.
  • Coordinate service requests and ensure customer satisfaction through efficient service delivery.
  • Budgeting & Reporting:
  • Manage budgets for field operations, including spare parts procurement, Labor, and repair costs.
  • Generate reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and team productivity.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Work on optimizing maintenance schedules, reducing downtime, and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Implement strategies to increase efficiency, lower costs, and enhance the reliability of machinery.
  • Training & Development:
  • Ensure continuous skill development of the field team through training and knowledge sharing.
  • Keep the team updated on the latest technologies, tools, and methods in aluminium smelting operations.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial settings.
  • Experience in managing teams and complex field operations.
  • Proficiency in safety protocols, especially in high-risk environments like smelting.
  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • This role is crucial in maintaining productivity and ensuring the safety and efficiency of the smelting process.
  • Candidates with Aluminium Smelter background would be the Ideal match.
