Job Title: Physiotherapist
Reports to: Director of Nursing
Location: Meath
A top nursing home in Meath has an opportunity for a Physiotherapist.
This is a permanent role
Typical work activities for the Physiotherapist include:
- being a member of the multi-disciplinary team and attending MDT meetings
- working with residents to identify the physical problem;
- developing and reviewing treatment programmes in conjunction with the MDT;
- helping residents’ rehabilitation following accidents and injuries etc;
- supervising physiotherapy assistants if applicable;
- writing resident case notes and reports in the care plans;
- collecting resident statistics when applicable;
- educating and advising residents and their carers about how to prevent and/or improve conditions;
- keeping up to date with new techniques and technologies available for treating residents;
- liaising with other members of the MDT to supply and receive relevant information about the background and progress of residents, as well as referring residents who require other specific medical attention.
- linking in with community health professionals where appropriate for a resident's care
Responsibilities:
• Carrying out comprehensive and detailed assessments of clients with a range of
health conditions associated with ageing such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis,
falls, post-surgical rehabilitation, post hospital stay, neurological conditions,
poor mobility, or loss of balance.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate the service and to measure effectiveness of
outcomes for all clients.
• Be accountable for the Physiotherapy service provision by prioritizing referrals.
• Build and maintain rapport with clients and their families.
• Take responsibility for the management of own caseload and deliver feedback at
scheduled case reviews and as required.
• Be responsible for maintaining up-to-date, accurate and appropriate records relating
to clients’ personal, family and medical information, their program of activity, any
changes to their circumstances and other information that is relevant in line with
GDPR guidelines.
• Be Person Centered, with excellent interpersonal qualities and communications skills
The Physiotherapist will also be required to attend the other three homes in the client's Group on a regular basis
Requirements:
Essential:
o Applicant must be registered on the Physiotherapist Register maintained by the
Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU
o At least 2 years relevant work experience post graduation.
o Fully eligible to work in Ireland full-time
