Mobile Testing Unit - Site Manager

This is a senior management position in charge of a COVID – 19 Testing Centre (Mobile Testing Unit) required by Department of Health and Social Care.

An operational role with line management and budgetary responsibilities.

Structure and Reporting Relationship:
Head of Operations
Regional Operations Lead
Leader (Site Lead/Prison Lead)
* Manager (Site Deputy/MTU Leader/Prison Deputy) *
Supervisor (Team/Traffic/Supply/Admin/Testing)

Shift Time: 7am – 9pm
4 days on 4 days off (including weekends)

• Accountable for the overall responsibility for running the MTU.
• Accountable for creating and sustaining a safe environment for customers and staff on the mobile site as well as all Health and Safety and Food Safety on site including the identification of First Aiders on the MTU.
• Giving great customer service experience and great working with the public is essential. Making sure that everyone that passes through the testing centre has a positive experience.
• Responsible for the working partnership with the parent RTS.
• Staff Management – general & keeping to stated site manning levels.
• Cost Management (within the current boundaries).
• Adherence to the DHSC Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
• Adherence to the clients Ops Manual at all times and instil the culture on the site.
• Accountable for the Fleet and required changes.
• Liaison with local police & council/landlord contacts and liaison with media – referral to DHSC Ops.
• Accountable for all PPE stock and Test Kit stock for MTUs.
• Accountable for all reports that need to be submitted.

Successful candidate must have experience in a managerial position before while also working with key external partners. Operational Management would be desirable. Candidate will be managing a team of 10 at both MTU sites and prison sites.

• Full, clean driving licence. Required to drive between sites. Will be reimbursed for travel.
• Not shielding or have underlying health issues.
• Ex-military or emergency service experience - highly desirable.
• Customer service experience face to face essential.
• Ability/ willing to carry out routine and repetitive work on a daily basis – essential.
• Happy to stand outside in all weather conditions for 14 hours a day.
• Security check will be required for this role.
