Data Engineer - Python, SQL, Snowflake, Databricks,  Asset Manager

An exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join a technology-driven Asset Management organization. As part of a truly greenfield environment, you will play an integral role in building out their cloud-based data environment & implement your own pipelines into production. This is a highly collaborative environment, with the space to add your engineering value to the Quantitative Research function.

Working with Data Scientists, Machine Learning Specialists, and reporting to a Lead Data Engineer , this is the ideal role for a hands-on engineer to drive value in the Asset Manager’s investment portfolio. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the data pipeline lifecycle, with experience/interest in cloud technologies such as Snowflake or Databricks and strong Python and SQL skills.

This position would be perfect for someone who is stuck in a big environment battling with legacy data support requirements and wants to step into greenfield development where you will be an active contributor to the team’s success. Your work will be highly visible, and the company will give you the opportunity to continuously develop yourself.

Responsibilities:

• Design & implementation of data pipelines
• Ability to build automated solutions when required for the business
• Provide support to quant research platform and APIs
• Work with technology teams, ensuring business standards are followed
• Excellent communicator and ability to communicate with technical individuals

Requirements:

• Good understanding of Python and SQL
• Familiarity or keen interest in Cloud Data environments such as Snowflake or Databrick
• Experience in pipeline deployment
• Ability to write supportable code
• Experience in Financial Services is beneficial
