The Role:
- Supervise daily laboratory and site services, ensuring efficient and profitable operations.
- Communicate effectively with departmental staff and management to support overall performance.
- Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, collating KPIs and taking action to maintain or improve results.
- Recruit, train, and develop staff, fostering a proactive and supportive team culture.
- Have an input in conjunction with company management and Sales staff to achieve development, growth/expansion of business via new client and business opportunities.
- Preparing quotations/proposals and supporting this process in other departments as necessary.
- Preparing specialist testing reports and authorising issue of reports.
- Ensure compliance with UKAS, ISO 17025, and quality standards, including QA/QC processes and internal audits.
What you need?
- Previous experience in a Geoenvironmental Engineer or Geotechnical Engineer role
- Have aspirations to run a department and take on a management role
- Strong understanding of legal frameworks and requirements, along with excellent technical skills and extensive knowledge of ground investigation, contaminated land, waste testing, and materials testing and assessment.
- Degree in Geology or Environmental Chemistry (desirable).
- Hold full UK driving licence.
