About the Role

The Revenue Services Officer (Billing Officer) is responsible for managing patient billing, focusing on private and compensable patients, and supporting revenue growth strategies. This role involves educating staff, raising patient accounts, ensuring compliance with billing standards, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders like patients, insurance providers, and healthcare staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet performance targets and KPIs related to billing and revenue.
  • Support business development and improvements.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate billing for private and compensable patients.
  • Collaborate with teams to maximize revenue and reduce costs.
  • Maintain data accuracy for patient details, admissions, and invoices.
  • Communicate with patients and stakeholders to resolve billing issues.
  • Provide analysis and reports for strategic planning and quality assurance.
  • Adhere to compliance requirements and policies.
  • Foster a positive work culture for the Revenue Services team.
  • Additional adhoc duties as required

  

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in billing within a hospital setting in Victoria is essential 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, private health insurance, and other funding requirements and processes.
  • Expertise in delivering revenue services within a complex organization.
  • Proficient in data manipulation and statistical analysis of large datasets.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet competing deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve when interpreting data.
