ERP PMO Manager - major global SAP programme


Opportunity for an experienced delivery professional to establish and manage a PMO in support of a major global ERP transformation programme (SAP Hana) for a group business. This is a major, complex international implementation and as such you will need comparable experience and confidence working at board level.


This is a new position, due to the engagement of a Systems Integrator to support the global rollout of SAP Hana. The Group has an existing Enterprise level PMO function, this ERP PMO Manager will support the ERP Programme directly (c£15m budget).
You will work closely, as a central point with the Group PMO Manager, Programme Director, Programme and Project Directors ensuring that the programme is delivered against agreed deliverables, time, quality and cost. In order to achieve this, you will need to bring industry standard best practice methods (i.e. PRINCE2).
You will be expected to;

  • Work closely with a geographically dispersed team to develop and uphold delivery governance, controls, tools and standards
  • Developing and maintain/optimise detailed project schedules, undertaking critical path analysis and analysis of change
  • Track progress against an integrated programme plan and manage programme status reports
  • Highlight risks and issues
  • Coordinating and enforcing quality control and a phase gate-keeping process
  • Ensuring Demand Planning and management processes are adhered to
  • Ensure benefits realisation and key Programme KPI’s are demonstrable and tracked.
  • Document and manage change control elements
  • Provide project planning for the programmes pilot implementations
  • Support the scheduling of any required workshops or meetings to support.
  • Manage RAID log to record, mitigate and communicate RAID progress & updates.
  • Manage team resources (PMO analysts etc) and evolve the broader PMO team’s core capabilities, coaching and mentoring as required
  • Work with internal finance, procurement and other back-office teams within Arriva to ensure processes are understood and followed and help to ensure that programme finances are adhered to.
  • Constructively challenge, whilst maintaining strong relationships across the business and within delivery teams.


Aside from your practical PMO experience you will need to be able to demonstrate that you are able to lead a portfolio of work within a PMO function by using your own initiative, whilst at the same time contributing to the knowledge and learning of the staff you are supporting and on occasion taking responsibilities for non-standard PMO tasks.

Central London location with occasional European travel.
Flexible working.
Paying up to £65k per annum salary + benefits

12-18 month contract.
