Engineering Manager (BBBH690888) City of London, England

Salary: GBP600 - GBP650 per day + Competitive day rates

As the Engineering Manager, your tasks will be as follows:-

• Accountable for engineering workstream on the project, leading the engineering team with internal and external members, including managing deliverables from external engineering contractors.
• Coordinating the design development of the project throughout the phases. Setting out design requirements to engineers, monitoring quality matching the project phase.
• Support and closely align with Project Manager and PMA to assist and provide information from and to stakeholders.
• Preparation of project phase-dependent documents (terms of reference, tenders for design consultants, co, etc.)
• Preparation of cost estimates
• Participation in project meetings, negotiations, evaluation of bids and preparation of award recommendations
• Ensuring quality assurance and quality control during the planning, tendering, construction, commissioning and operation phases
• Preparation of meeting reports and presentations
• Keep up-to-date on happenings in project and technological developments of the market.
• In this role, you report to the Project Manager within a project and to the Manager Engineering Management in the Engineering Department. You will be a sparring partner for the Project Manager and the rest of the project management team
• Using “people skills” to build and motivate engineering teams.

YOUR PROFILE
• Degree in process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or power plant engineering and experience in planning and project management.
• Experience in the operation of district heating and combined heat and power plants is an advantage
• Professional skills include a sound knowledge of heat generation processes as well as the interface of generation plants to district heating networks
• Personal competencies include leadership qualities and excellent analytical skills
• Good focus on safety and safety in design
• Experience in scheduling and engineering processes
• Experience in working in teams, including cultural sensitivity
• Knowledge of UK standards and regulations
• Used to working on interdisciplinary topics and interfaces with other departments
• Used to work in governance heavy environment
• Experienced in complex environments, e.g. working in a concession based development as part of Energy Services Company (ESCO)
• Calm nature in demanding environment.
• Solution oriented person

You will be visiting projects and offices frequently. Working from home when not travelling is possible.
