This Pharmacovigilance Officer’s role is based on an initial 6 month contract in Reading.
The Pharmacovigilance Officer will provide accurate and timely processing and management of all pharmacovigilance data in order to contribute to an efficient pharmacovigilance service.
It is the Pharmacovigilance Officer’s role to ensure that the Pharmacovigilance Manager is informed in a timely and accurate fashion of potential safety, quality and regulatory issues.
- Prioritise and manage individual workload and maintain accurate and comprehensive documents.
- To be responsible for the accurate day-to-day processing of pharmacovigilance data and ensuring that company and regulatory timelines are met.
- To assist the Pharmacovigilance Manager in the preparation and maintenance of Pharmacovigilance documentation including management of clinical or post authorisation study activities, Patient support programmes, Digital programmes and or Market Research programmes in relation to PV activities.
- To assist the Pharmacovigilance Manager and Senior PV Officer with the regular monitoring and documentation of safety data to identify trends, clusters and potential safety issues.
- To be responsible in the preparation and maintenance of assigned Pharmacovigilance procedures to ensure in line with regulations and global company policies.
- Maintain a current understanding of pharmacovigilance legislation.
- To assist with Pharmacovigilance training, tracking and reporting.
- To assist with the monthly compliance activities and ensure timely resolution and documentation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Foster and facilitate accurate and timely communication with other Business unit functions under the guidance of the Pharmacovigilance manager or Senior PV Officer.
To assist with administrative management of Pharmacovigilance data as required.
- Life science degree or Qualified Health Professional (e.g. pharmacy technician, pharmacist, nurse)
- Previous relevant work experience in Drug Safety, pharmacovigilance, pharmacy, nursing or medicine
- Good understanding of the principles of Pharmacovigilance
- Familiarity with use of computer systems for word processing and database management
