Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, to work for a market leader in food production. The position is based at their Livingston site.

As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising our production facility. This role requires a strong balance of electrical and mechanical engineering skills to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment and processes. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where your expertise will contribute directly to the production of high-quality fish products.

4 on 4 off Days / Nights (0630/1800 1830/0630)

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all production machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in a timely manner to minimise downtime.
  • Collaborate with production teams to optimise equipment performance and improve efficiency.
  • Carry out installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including fault logs and maintenance schedules.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Participate in shift handovers, ensuring clear communication of ongoing issues and priorities.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to production.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Skills: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Technical Expertise: A balanced skill set in both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work rotational shifts, including weekends and nights. 
  • Team Player: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.
