Hours of work: 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Friday
Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity for an IT Assistant, to be based in Warwick. Our client is Europe's leader within their market sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive & forward-thinking organisation.
As IT Assistant you will be the first line of support for users to resolve IT and technical issues they may encounter on a day to day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- First line desktop support
- Supporting IT system workflow and network infrastructure
- Maintaining production control systems, resolving stuck orders and error tracking
- Assist with the delivery of IT projects, such as new workflow (when there are new products, customers, hardware etc), including carrying out testing.
- Support with the procurement of and initial set up of IT hardware
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
- Ensuring the necessary security provisions are in place, including ongoing/routine backups.
- Support monitoring of systems and maintain communication facility throughout the site
General Duties:
- The IT Assistant is responsible for other such duties as specified by the Management team and Directors to enable the Company to fulfil its orders and obligations.
- Adherence to Company Rules and Regulations, including Health and Safety, as outlined in policies on the
- Company intranet and within the Health & Safety Manual.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of all knowledge and information appertaining to the Company, its customers and its employees.
You will have:
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Computer Science or IT related subject
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies, ie Windows Desktop, Office365, and other desktop applications
- Knowledge of cyber security best practice
- The ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent team working and communication skills - the job holder supports with internal customers at all levels of the organisation, including end users, the operations team and senior management.
- Proactive with a positive, can-do attitude
- The ability to learn quickly.

- Be responsive to business-critical IT issues and prioritise tasks and projects based on business needs.
Desirable Experience:
Desirable:
- At least 2 years’ experience within a technology role
- Knowledge of IT Networking
- Linux skills and experience
- Experience of ticket management systems
- Apple Mac OS knowledge
