GiPro (part of GiGroup) are delighted to be partnering with a world leader in oil seed extraction technology, refining plants, and equipment serving global customers from its locations in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Please note that this role will require some form of flexibility as 75% of the time will be spent on-site, mostly in the UK and 10% of travel is abroad. 25% is office based duties.
The role:
The Quality Control Specialist will manage the creation and enforcement of quality guidelines with fabricators. Conduct detailed inspections and audits of fabricators regional and abroad to verify compliance with welding standards, engineering codes, and shipping schedules. Act as a key liaison, regularly communicating between the engineering teams and fabricators to ensure drawings are properly interpreted and fabrication techniques are consistently applied.
Core responsibilities:
- Lead corrective action initiatives and perform root-cause analysis when quality issues arise, ensuring that fabricators take appropriate measures to prevent recurrence.
- Work with fabricators to ensure they are meeting quality, drawing, code requirements and welding conformance.
- Lead inspections and testing activities on complex components, assemblies, or projects, ensuring that all quality standards and specifications are fully met.
- Assist in the creation and refinement of QA/QC documentation, including control plans, inspection checklists, and test procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and suppliers, to ensure that any quality issues are promptly addressed and resolved.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and initiate corrective actions where necessary, including working with the engineering team on design changes to improve quality.
About you:
- You possess knowledge of Welding Procedures & WelderQualifications (ASME IX / AWS).
- Able to read engineering drawings is a must.
- NVQ or equivalent two-year college mechanical qualification.
- Knowledge of fabrication and the application of non-destructive examination (NDE) techniques.
- Knowledge of material selection, material substitutions / material conversions
