A Fantastic new Business Development Manager position has become available within the Travel Industry! Are you looking to work for a well-established Independent Travel company?? Do you have Business Development experience , preferably within a consortium?

Job Summary
To grow and support a Consortium of over 70 profitable Independent Travel Agents ensuring the recruitment of high calibre businesses that deliver sales, margin and contribution to achieve budget. Provide commercial business support whilst ensuring travel systems operational compliance is adhered to, making sure that any risks are mitigated, and the Independent Travel Agents thrive.

The role requires provision of unrivalled customer care whilst undertaking all activities involved in the delivery of our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
The post holder shall:
*Build and sustain effective professional relationships with all Consortium members, whilst having the ability to appropriately challenge business owners.
*Support and make recommendations to drive profitable performance towards the achievement of individual members forecasted sales and profit plans.
*Be prepared for extensive travel across the UK, occasionally overseas and a requirement to be away overnight along with attending industry functions when required.
*Achieve targeted number of new quality members to join the Consortium annually.
*Ensure all Consortium members receive appropriate training, understand and comply with company procedures. Address any concerns with business owners and be the first point of contact for operational and financial queries.
Build strong internal relationships with support functions, ensuring a 'one team' approach. Provide an intermediary contact between Support services, tour operators and members.
•Through your own proficiency in travel systems knowledge, deliver training as required.
•Be responsible for building the awareness of the Consortium brand across the travel industry, including social media.
•Build a high level of Member/Travel Agent engagement through effective communication and initiatives and ensuring a face to face meeting with each member at least once a year.
•Address any difficult situations with a sensitive and professional manner in order to bring to a satisfactory conclusion.
•Work on projects that will develop sales and profit across The Consortium division.
•To ensure correct contract agreements are in place and are effectively filed and stored.

Package:
A fantastic salary of £30,000 - £38,000 depending on experience, plus a pension scheme and great Travel Benefits.
