Our client a Hospital based in Dublin wishes to recruit an Occupational Therapy Manager. You will be responsible for the provision of a high quality Occupational Therapy service and will carry out clinical and educational duties as required.


The Occupational Therapy Department provides a service to the following clinical specialties including, Acute Medical Care, Older Persons, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Ophthalmology, Oncology and Palliative Care, Hand Therapy, Orthopaedics and Rheumatology.

Essential Qualifications
• BSc (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent recognized and CORU validated qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Minimum 5 years’ satisfactory post qualification experience in Oncology & Palliative care, Elderly Care, Rheumatology, Hand Therapy, Acute Medical Care in an acute hospital setting of which at least 2 years should be as Senior Occupational Therapist.

Essential Experience
• Experience in an acute setting or within the specialities outlined above.
• Evidence of the ability to achieve results through effective collaboration in a complex environment
• Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team.

• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, patients and relatives.
• Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
• Demonstrate adaptability to the rapid changes taking place in the health services.
• Have the ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively.
• Have the ability to exercise sound judgement when faced with conflicting pressure.
• Have the ability to manage and lead a working group.
• Have the ability to implement and interpret procedures and policies.
• Be energetic and enthusiastic and have the ability to work under pressure.
• Show empathy and compassion.
• Be a team player who works well with colleagues from different backgrounds, professions and disciplines.
