Our client a Hospital based in the Cork Area is currently recruiting a Theatre Manager CNM3 or ADON level to co-ordinate and manage the activity of the Operating Theatre.
As a member of the Nurse Management team the post of CNM3 Theatre Services plays a pivotal role in the coordination and management of activity and resources within the clinical area. The CNM3 Theatre Services will promote a culture of open communication and best practice in the delivery of nursing care, providing clinical expertise, advice and support within the multi-professional team.
Candidate Requirements
• Registration with NMBI
• Demonstrable commitment to patient Safety & Quality
• Minimum 5 years post graduate acute care nursing experience essential
• ACLS course completed and up to date (or be willing to undertake)
• Minimum 1 years experience in a people management role (CNM1 position or equivalent)
• Excellent knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and skills
• Ability to make decisions with excellent organisational skills
• Completion of a Theatre or Management course is desirable but not essential
Main duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to)
• Formulate, implement and evaluate service plans and budgets in co-operation with
multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership.
• Manage patient care to ensure the highest professional standards using an evidence
based, care planning approach.
• Manage all resources efficiently and effectively within agreed budget.
• Facilitate co-ordination, co-operation and liaison across multi-disciplinary teams
and programmes.
• Exercise a defined role in the personnel function.
• Ensure that effective safety procedures are developed and managed to comply with
statutory obligations, in conjunction with relevant staff.
• Manage communication at ward and department level.
• Participate in the identification, development and delivery of education, training
and development programmes for nursing and non-nursing staff.
• Contribute to the formulation, development and implementation of policies and
procedures at area and hospital level.
• Lead and implement change,
• Facilitate team building and staff motivation.
• Must have excellent patient care to a high standard
• Be computer literate.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication
abilities.
• Have the ability to work on own initiative
