We are looking for an EIW Civil Superintendent for one of our clients with the following details:
Location: Basrah, IRAQ
Start Date: Apr 2025
Contract Duration: 1 year, renewable
Work status: Rotation 28x28
Qualification and Experience Required:
- Professional Experience (years): 10 years in Oil and Gas projects.
- Experience in similar position (years):5
- Technical skills: previous experience in civil works, early works, roads, camps construction required.
- Level / Diploma: Civil engineering degree or equivalent
- Languages: Fluency in English (speaking and writing); Arabic would be a plus.
- Soft skills: Civil superintendent must exhibit strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Effectively coordinate teams, manage subcontractors, and communicate with stakeholders. The role demands quick thinking to resolve issues that arise on site and the capacity to make decisions that keep projects moving forward.
Missions & Activities
The job holder is responsible to:
- Lead a team of company construction supervisors, contractors and Subcontractors during construction phase of well pads early infrastructure civil works and ensure an appropriate implementation for mobilization.
- Responsible for overseeing construction activities and ensuring they are meeting all project requirements, and comply with all applicable rules, codes and standards, specifically with regards to H3SE requirements.
- Coordinating the day-to-day work with other personnel and contractors and resolving any issues or delays that may arise.
- Manage, evaluate and challenge the contractors and subcontractors performance on weekly basis through direct reports.
- Maintain and closely monitor construction schedule and budgets and tracking project costs.
- Develop a Site performance dashboard and set up the necessary key performance indicators and promptly notify the project construction manager of any issues that may have technical or commercial implication (Claims).
- Follow-up and update the construction risk register and ensure the implementation of the updated action plan within the agreed time frame.
- Follow-up the contractors procurement activities and ensure the availability of all construction materials and equipment at site at the planned time.
- Implement the local content plan as approved, and for motivating contractors to effectively carry out all necessary steps.
- Ensures that contractors and subcontractors comply with the company H3SE management system and the accurate implementation of the work permit system and ensures that all significant H3SE incidents are captured and reported into the incident reporting system.
- Hand over adequate the wellpads early infrastructure civil works for future use by other project packages.
Accountabilities
- Overseeing the day-to-day construction activities on the construction site.
- Producing look-ahead schedules to ensure the project is completed on time.
- Ensuring adherence to safety standards, industry codes, and legal requirements.
- Conducting regular site inspections and ensuring the quality of work meets the project specifications.
- Maintaining construction budgets and tracking project costs.
- Effective communication with project management team and other construction specialists.
