Commercial Graduate

Our client are a leading utilities business who are going through an exciting period of growth, they are committed to supporting and developing their people to achieve their full potential. As a Commercial Graduate you will gain a breadth of experience within the commercial function, enabling you to develop the commercial acumen, experience and knowledge required to provide effective commercial support to the diverse business. You will be joining their Power business, supporting the Commercial Manager and team of Quantity Surveyors in the day-to-day administration of the commercial activities within the business area/projects you support, and getting involved in a wide range of commercial activities.

Key Accountabilities:

• Payment Process: You’ll take on the responsibility of the payment process ensuring accurate input on a daily basis and maintaining a strong monthly cashflow.
• WIP Management: You’ll take ownership of managing the WIP process and ensuring all possible work is billed.
• Subcontractor Onboarding: You’ll ensure that all subcontractors go through the onboarding process and our internal job systems are up to date.
• ​Ad hoc Requirements: You’ll be a point of contact for the Commercial Manager and QS for any assistance with day-to-day tasks including running of monthly/weekly reports, assisting with data analysis, maintaining databases and supporting Operations and Finance with purchase orders.

Essential Qualifications/Skills/Experience

• 2:1 bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Flexibility to travel within the UK
• IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
• A good standard of verbal and numerical reasoning
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Ability to work to strict deadlines
• Planning, prioritisation and time-management skills
• Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy
• Ability to analyse and interpret data
• Passionate to work in a customer-focused environment

Desirable Qualifications/Skills/Experience

• Full UK driving licence
• Previous experience within an administrative/financial/commercial role would be beneficial but not essential​
