IS Automation Engineer

IS Automation Engineer (BBBH14383) Newport, Wales

Salary: GBP495 - GBP500 per day

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an IS Automation Engineer. The successful candidate must be proactive, diligent with a strong technical ability, and they must have skills in both presentation and customer relations both at a technical and non-technical level. The role includes primarily hands-on implementation tasks, with some design work in support of the other project engineering staff.

Pay: Up to £500 per day Via Umbrella
Location: Newport
Contract: 6 months
Hours: Monday- Friday
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: Current SC must be able to get NATO clearance. British Nationals only.

Experience

The Engineer must have experience of Devops (and in particular Ansible) for application deployment & configuration in a multi-vendor system. This should include Windows & Linux as well as networking environments such as Cisco & Palo Alto. The position requires a minimum of +5 years’ experience within a similar role preferably working in secure environment such as MOD/GOV/NATO. This role is to develop a solution for deployed military systems project to satisfy customer requirements.

Responsibilities
 

  • Design and Implementation of Devops Capability using the following:

 

    • Devops using Ansible (Ansible Tower, Ansible Engine, Ansible Automation Platform)
    • YAML
    • Vmware VRealize
    • API development using RESTful
    • GitLab CI/CD

 

  • Support the project with automation of the infrastructure
  • Full life cycle software development/Scripting
    • Powershell, Python, C# (desirable)
    • OASIS TOSCA
    • JFrog

 

  • Hands on deployment of their knowledge of Windows, Linux and Virtualisation Techniques
  • Fault finding and problem solving.
  • Problem Solving Responsibilities, you will need to provide innovation and proactive implementation and issue resolution during both the design and delivery phases of the assign tasks.

  • Lead Delivery Engineers
  • Third party COTS product suppliers

Skills/Experience/Education

You will have completed a recognised Engineering Apprentice with HNC-D or Engineering Qualification to Degree level or equivalent experience.

You must have demonstrable Design and Implementation Skills/Qualifications in the following areas:
 

    • Linux
    • Microsoft Windows Server
    • Networking Technologies
    • Devops using Ansible (Ansible Tower, Ansible Engine, Ansible Automation Platform)
    • YAML
    • Vmware VRealize
    • API development using RESTful
    • GitLab CI/CD


Essential Experience
 

  • Exposure of working with a 24/7 high availability & highly secure systems; Skillful in identifying design risks.
  • Proven experience of multi-vendor complex secure communications
  • Proven experience of development of prototype secure solution within a multi-disciplined team whilst providing operational (day-to-day) support.
  • Proven experience of working with product vendors to optimize a solution from a technical axis.
  • Experience working within following customer environments UK MOD or NATO
