Compliance and Safety Officer (BBBH16525) Manchester, England
I am currently recruiting for a compliance & safety officer for my client based in Manchester. The Compliance and Safety Officer will carry out administrative, analytical, and investigative tasks to establish, uphold, and promote the highest standards of Compliance and Safety Management across our client’s organisation.

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday 40 hours
Responsibilities:
- Compliance Monitoring and Quality Assurance: Oversee organizational activities to ensure compliance with applicable requirements, supervise proper execution, monitor contracted maintenance for adherence to contracts, and implement a quality audit program to review maintenance procedures regularly. Address non-compliances through corrective actions, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Procedure and Supplier Evaluation: Regularly review and update organizational procedures and standards to align with current regulatory requirements (e.g., Part-145, EASA/CAA guidelines), assess suppliers and subcontractors for product quality and compliance, and ensure standards meet organizational needs and regulatory satisfaction.
- Certification and Training Management: Process personnel certification authorizations, provide advice on safety matters, and facilitate quality and availability of safety and safety management training. Integrate audit and incident feedback into recurrent training programs to continually improve compliance and safety standards.
- Risk and Safety Management: Support hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk management activities, conduct safety investigations, and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of risk mitigation actions from the safety action plan. Ensure consistent application of a Just Culture within safety investigations.
- Documentation and Communication: Assist in developing and managing compliance and safety documentation, promote compliance and safety awareness both internally and with customers, and support Safety Action Groups (SAGs) as needed.
- General Support: Provide additional support and perform other duties as required by the Director of Compliance and Safety.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Experience as an ISO 9001 auditor in a workshop environment
- P145 workshop or Part 21G Manufacture experience
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent, preferably in an Engineering or Safety-related discipline.
- 2-years working in a aircraft maintenance or airline environment; or
- 2-years working in a compliance or safety environment
- Excellent knowledge of Aviation standards in an airline maintenance environment (EASA); and
- Excellent knowledge of the application of Safety Management Systems
- High standard of English language (written and oral);High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must hold right to live and work in the UK at time of application.
