Aircraft Project Manager (BBBH16226) Prestwick, Scotland
I am currently recruiting for an Aircraft Project Manager on behalf of my client.
The Aircraft Project Manager (APM) will lead aircraft projects within the MRO Base Maintenance Management team, ensuring compliance with company procedures throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. This role supports and reports directly to the Base Maintenance Manager, collaborating closely with Aircraft Check Managers (CRS) and various internal departments to ensure successful project delivery. Key responsibilities include reporting on project progress, escalating issues when necessary, and maintaining focus on meeting the contractual requirements for multiple aircraft project deliverables.

Shift Pattern: Monday- Friday 40 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement Lifecycle and Project Management processes for all aircraft projects, ensuring continuous process improvement. Define roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities in a RACI matrix within the Project Management Plan (PMP). Coordinate phase definition and ensure clear documentation in the PMP, which is maintained as the single source of truth throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage schedule and TAT changes related to project deliverables, including scope increases that impact stakeholders, finance, communication, and reporting across all business units and leadership.
- Manage and maintain the project schedule per internal and contractual requirements, conducting regular reviews with the team to address variations and incorporate updates and forecasts.
- Manage scope within the project, hold regular Change Board meetings with the customer and project team to ensure variations are managed and scope creep is controlled.
- Following established financial procedures to achieve accurate financial management and to facilitate reporting for both customers and internal governance
- Run Start Up meetings, daily stand-ups, monthly project reviews, Contract Status Reviews (CSR's) and Gate reviews with team ensuring full involvement and support of all service providers and independents as required.
- Demonstrate a clear overview of progress, risk, issues and readiness at reviews with clear and accurate signed off minutes issued, and all actions logged/progressed through central action log.
- Work with the quality department to ensure all processes followed for project and regular audits are in place and conducted.
- Ensure all project requirements (technical, commercial, project management, delivery, etc., both internal and external) are clearly defined and documented in a Deliverables Matrix from the outset or during the bid/contract negotiation phase.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Desirable but not essential - APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), or PMI Project Management Professional/ Prince2.
- Pro-active Project manager comfortable with problem solving and driving tasks through to completion using your own initiative.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, building collaborative relationships with internal teams and customers across Engineering, Production, Quality, Field Service, and Supply Chain for smooth project delivery.
- Strong communication skills both in oral and written.
- Self-starter, eager to learn, develop and grow
- Collaborative, not afraid to voice opinions or challenge the status quo.
- Technical aviation experience with knowledge of airworthiness regulations, MOE, MEL, SRM, and the limitations and impact of technical data.
- Have a working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance
- High standard of English language (written and oral)
- High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience of Microsoft Project. (MSP)
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
