Integration and Trial Engineer

Salary: GBP70 - GBP70 per hour

An opportunity has arisen with my client for a DragonFire Integration and Trial Engineer to join them until the end of 2023. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team leading the demonstrations of high power laser weapon systems in the UK and get hands on experience of real LDEW equipment.

The Integration and Systems Validation team supporting the DragonFire project. The DragonFire team has successfully delivered 2 demonstration trials of this technology. Now there is an opportunity to join the team as it moves towards the major demonstration goal of an above the horizon target defeat trial.

Role:  Integration and Trial Engineer
Pay: Up to £70.00 Per Hour Via Umbrella Company  
Location: Bristol
Contract: 9 Months
Hours: Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week
Security Clearance: Security Clearance Required
Travel Requirements: To Farnborough – Once a month to weekly – with overnight stays.  Benbecula to support trials – up to 6 weeks.
 
Responsibilities:
 

  • The role is to manage the DragonFire Assembly integration and test (AIT) phase for the End to End Trial, This will require the ability to work with a multi-company team.

Reporting to the DragonFire ISV Team Lead, this role will be responsible for:

  • Managing the AIT working group
  • Managing the day to day AIT planning with the DragonFire partner organisations.
  • AIT Stakeholder management both external and internal
  • Working alongside other functions within the business
  • Following the successful integration phase you will also be given the opportunity to directly support and attend the high power engagement / firing trials.


Skills/Experience

  • There will be travel needed as part of the role primarily to Farnborough this will vary from minimal to staying down during the week.
  • There will also be a need to support a trial in the hebs come the end of the year.
  • Awareness of off-site working and responsibilities it brings e.g. health and safety
  • Good team player – able to work in a complex multi company environment
  • Willingness to be flexible on travel requirements.
  • Safety Qualifications required.
