An opportunity has arisen with my client for a Composite Repair Engineer based in Prestwick.
Role: Composite Repair Engineer
Salary: Upon Application
Location: Prestwick
Shift Pattern: 5,5,4 - 07:00-19:00
Responsibilities –
- Conduct thorough inspections of composite materials on aircraft to identify damage, wear, and fatigue, using both visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Assess the severity of damage and determine the best course of action for repairs, ensuring compliance with aviation standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and any modifications made to the composite components.
- Ensure all repair procedures follow manufacturer guidelines, regulatory standards (e.g.CAA and EASA), and company protocols.
- Perform metal bonding and wet/prepreg layup processes to repair or fabricate composite and metal components of aircraft. This includes preparing surfaces, applying appropriate adhesives or resins, and laying up composite materials (wet or prepreg) with precision to ensure the structural integrity and strength of the repair.
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in composite work inside an aerospace environment.
- Experience in both metal bonding or wet/prepreg layup
- Right to work in the UK
