Procurement Engineer

Procurement Engineer (BBBH15916) Prestwick, Scotland

A great opportunity has arisen with my client for a Procurement Engineer. The Procurement Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier on-time delivery, managing inventory levels, sourcing materials and services to meet customer requirements, and supporting pre-input planning for part preload. This role also involves monitoring parts sent for overhaul to meet performance metrics in a time-sensitive supply chain, where delivery failures can financially impact the business.

Location: Prestwick
Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday 37.5 hours  

Responsibilities:

  • To procure all Aircraft parts, raw materials and tooling required to support EASA Part 145 Regulated MRO.
  • Manage, develop and negotiate existing and new sales agreements with Suppliers.
  • Monitor Supplier performance based on the clients Approved Suppliers List (ASL) and to liaise with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure compliance.
  • Determine levels of inventory to meet organisational metrics.
  • Negotiate and administer purchase orders in support of production needs.
  • Develop and monitor plans to reduce/eliminate excess and slow-moving inventory.
  • Work with finance to address any payment issues.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Environmental, Health, and Safety are included as part of everyday purchasing activities.
  • Maintain accuracy of the MRO system with regards to all material dept requirements.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of regulatory requirements in relation to the management and control of materials.
  • Any other project or activity that may be required to support the business from time to time.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience procuring aircraft parts, raw materials and tooling.
  • Negotiating existing and new sales agreements with suppliers.
  • Strong attention to detail, determining levels of inventory.
