Fire Alarm Engineer

Fire Alarm Engineer (CDS1) Wigston, England

Salary: GBP26000 - GBP35000 per annum + Vehicle / Smart Phone / Laptop/ Pension

Working week: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Salary £26000 - £35000 dependant on experience and qualifications

  • Routine and annual servicing of systems.
  • Responding to emergency breakdowns.
  • Participation of the CDS engineer callout Rota as directed by the Service Manager
  • Liaising with Customers and Staff (Internally and externally).
  • General Administrative Duties.
  • Communication professionally and confidently through written and oral communication.
  • Proficient use of IT to record and update Company records
  • Interpret data ensuring attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ensure that workload is planned and prioritised in accordance with Company business needs.
  • Present a smart and professional appearance to customers and suppliers at all times.
  • Deliver flexibility in terms of working hours to meet the demands of the business.
  • Utilise knowledge of fire alarm and detection system, emergency lights, disable refuge systems and access control system.

 

Experience in a previous role :

Minimum 3 Years.

Competencies:

  • A good understanding of BS5839 Part 1 2017, Unit 1 – Fire Detection Design.
  • A good understanding of BS5266 Part 1 2011 – Emergency Lighting Design.
  • Attitude to Work - Have an excellent attitude and work ethic being highly motivated and able to work effectively alone.
  • Communication Skills – The ability to communicate with people at all levels, providing clarity and gaining trust
  • Team Skills – The ability to work with teams and individuals to ensure effective and professional working relationships are developed and maintained. Able to develop strong relationships with customers & colleagues.
  • Customer Service Skills – The ability to both recognise and deliver excellent customer service, willing to go ‘the extra mile’ to provide customers with a lasting positive impression
  • Problem Solving Skills – The ability to identify and resolve problems in a manner that enhances the business and complies with legislation
  • IT Skills – The ability to use technology to save time and deliver a professional service
