Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting two Pūkenga - Lecturer in Music Therapy on a permanent, part-time contract to join the Music Therapy Programme at Te Kōkī - New Zealand School of Music.

Key responsibilities:

  • Commitment to teaching with academic rigour and to promoting students’ learning in the discipline of Music Therapy at Master's and PhD level.
  • Engaging effectively with the Music Therapy community in Aotearoa New Zealand.
  • Participating constructively and productively on Music Therapy research with colleagues within and outside the University.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will have:

  • A Master of Music Therapy degree (or equivalent).
  • Registration as a Music Therapist in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
  • A completed, or nearly completed, doctorate in a subject related to music therapy.
  • A track record of at least 5 years as a safe and ethical Music Therapy Practitioner.
  • Strong musical and relationship-building skills to demonstrate application of music therapy standards of practice in Aotearoa New Zealand.
