Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role 

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Manu Tāiko - Associate Director on a permanent, full-time contract to join its marketing team which sits in the Engagement portfolio in the University.

The Manu Tāiko - Associate Director Engagement, Marketing leads a team of talented marketers in campaigns and content creation, marketing automation management and faculty marketing support. This is a role that requires a strategically minded marketing professional to manage the implementation of pan-University marketing programmes to promote and support the University brand and student recruitment objectives both domestically and internationally.

Key responsibilities: 

• Leading the creation and delivery of national recruitment campaigns.
• Oversight of the University’s marketing automation strategy relating to recruitment.
• Providing support for the Manutaki - Director in management of the University brand.
• Working closely with the Manutaki - Director on market information and research, to ensure the development of strong student recruitment propositions and optimal impact in targeting key audiences.
• Providing leadership and HR management support to six direct reports.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

We are seeking a seasoned senior marketing professional with extensive national campaign development and implementation experience and the proven ability to lead teams in delivering high quality marketing outcomes from end to end.

Key requirements:  

• Substantial experience in management of marketing at a senior level in a large and complex organisation.
• Experience in developing strategic marketing plans and delivering against objectives and budgets.
• Experience in working with both organic and paid social to drive outcomes within an overall campaign strategy.
• Experience in championing an organisation’s brand.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and application to operational planning and policy formulation.
• Experience in managing contracts and relationships with creative agencies.
• Appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
