Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Law to join Te Kauhanganui Tatai Ture | Faculty of Law.

The role involves engaging in high quality research, inspirational teaching in law courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and supervising research students. The successful applicant will build on their emerging or established research record, with the expectation that they will maintain a highly productive research program and contribute to research excellence in the faculty. They will be expected to take on leadership and service roles, appropriate to the level of appointment to further the faculty’s strategic goals, and to participate in the academic life of the faculty.

The successful applicant will have excellent legal qualifications, preferably at a postgraduate level or, for an otherwise outstanding applicant, a strong commitment to completing postgraduate qualifications. You will be a highly motivated academic or legal practitioner with a desire to enhance the learning of students, and a strong commitment to producing exceptional scholarship. You will value collegiality and the opportunities that the faculty affords to engage with the Wellington and wider legal community.

A commitment to delivering high-quality research-led teaching in core private law courses (tort, contract, equity, property) as well as specialist elective courses and postgraduate offerings is preferred, but outstanding applicants from any area of law will be considered.
