Data Engineer
My client needs a contract Data Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and implement robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into their data warehouse using Talend.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions.
• Optimize and maintain existing data pipelines to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability.
• Perform data modelling and schema design to support analytical and reporting needs.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse large volumes of data.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data processes, data dictionaries, and data lineage.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering and propose innovative solutions to enhance data infrastructure.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Proficiency in Talend, including designing and implementing data integration workflows.
• Expertise in SQL programming, including complex query design and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of data modelling concepts and experience with data modelling tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify data-related issues and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and proactive attitude towards learning and staying updated with new technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
• Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices is desirable.
