This role will provide you with the opportunity to manage a small team of CompEX certified engineers providing expertise on DSEAR and ATEX matters. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small team of CompEx-certified electricians, providing mentorship and technical support.
- Oversee and actively participate in the design, selection, installation, and maintenance of electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres.
- Take a hands-on approach to installation and complex maintenance work, ensuring compliance with DSEAR/ATEX regulations.
- Ensure strict compliance with ATEX, DSEAR, and SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) regulations.
- Conduct site inspections, assess potential risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure best practices and regulatory adherence.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, optimising operational efficiency and safety procedures.
Requirements
- CompEx certification is essential.
- Strong expertise in DSEAR and ATEX regulations, including hazardous area classification and risk assessments.
- Proven experience in chemical production or similar industries involving explosive atmospheres.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, managing teams in hazardous environments.
- Knowledge of SHEQ standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
