A leading manufacturer of bespoke equipment and systems are currently looking to recruit a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer for their Newport site. This company supply high quality products to blue chip clients and are a household name globally.  This role is well suited to a graduate who has a strong mechanical engineering or product design related  degree. Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for product improvements, new product development, adaptation, specials and the administration and management thereof.
  • Take a lead role in improving quality through quality improvement initiatives and reducing component and product complexity.
  • Take a lead role in implementing programme of rationalisation and cost reduction.
  • Ensure all production drawings are checked for correct tolerances and are accurately drawn.
  • Resolve manufacturing issues relating to finished product and components.
  • Responsible for maintaining, updating and creating product BOM’s through mainframe structure programmes.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Mechanical Engineering / Product Design Graduate.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant design/ manufacturing techniques.
  • Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Able to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A hands on personality who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.
