Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations for our client and the provisions in the dedicated regions, reporting to the Director of Operations.
- Lead and manage Registered Managers and resources to ensure the highest quality of service and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Register with Ofsted as the Responsible Individual for all operational and new homes.
- Monitor and support Registered Managers to ensure they meet their full potential.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory frameworks across all homes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and professionals associated with the young people in care.
- Promote high standards of care, ensuring services align with regulations and organizational goals.
- Lead the planning, development, and delivery of effective and sustainable services across the London region.
- Ensure homes are compliant with Ofsted requirements and other regulatory bodies.
- Implement and monitor the company’s systems, including ClearCare (for children’s social care settings) and Linguix (for AI-based writing assistance).
- Manage the budget for all homes, ensuring value for money while delivering high-quality services.
- Oversee pricing and fee structures for young people in care, seeking opportunities to increase revenue and occupancy.
- Control expenditure and monitor spending to ensure homes operate within financial parameters.
- Maintain oversight of agency costs and other financial resources to ensure compliance with budgetary expectations.
- Use Breathe HR and Planday to manage HR processes, staff rotas, and real-time shift monitoring.
- Recruit high-quality employees and ensure systems and policies are in place to create a positive working environment.
- Drive a high-engagement culture through leadership, coaching, and performance management.
- Conduct supervisions, appraisals, and manage disciplinary matters as necessary.
- Foster talent development and succession planning within the team.
- Ensure that all homes aim for "Good" or "Outstanding" Ofsted ratings.
- Monitor and evaluate the standards of care through audits, visits, and performance management.
- Comply with statutory and legislative requirements, company policies, and procedures.
- Ensure quality assurance practices are in place to support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Knowledge, Education, and Skills:
- Must pass the Ofsted ‘fit’ test.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and safeguarding processes.
- Strong leadership, management, and financial management skills.
- Qualifications required: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, Children & Young People’s Services (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a leadership role, especially within a multi-site organization.
- Experience in managing children’s homes and understanding of Ofsted requirements.
- Background in leading strategic initiatives and managing successful children’s residential care services.
- Experience in managing business partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
- Track record of achieving Good or Outstanding ratings in previous settings.
- This role demands a high level of responsibility and leadership, as well as a commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of young people in care. Successful candidates will have substantial experience in residential children’s home management and a strong understanding of the regulatory environment
