Are you an experienced leader with a passion for supporting children and young people? This is a vital role that combines leadership, care, and compliance to ensure our service users receive the highest standard of support.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management: Take legal responsibility as the Ofsted Registered Manager, ensuring the unit operates smoothly and efficiently. Provide guidance and support to staff, fostering a positive and professional environment.
  • Care & Support: Implement and monitor individual care plans, ensuring the health, welfare, and development of service users are prioritized. Manage key stages of placements, such as admissions and discharges, with sensitivity and care.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with families, social workers, health and education professionals to maintain strong, positive relationships and ensure comprehensive support for service users.
  • Compliance & Record-Keeping: Ensure compliance with legislation, including the Children Act and National Minimum Care Standards. Maintain accurate records and oversee the staff team's documentation.
  • Staff Development: Involve yourself in recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management of staff. Ensure regular training and support are provided to maintain a skilled workforce.
  • Budget Management: Oversee unit budgets, prepare reports, and ensure financial systems are followed in accordance with company policies.
  • Community Engagement: Create a homely environment for service users and develop links with local resources to enhance participation in community activities.

 

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a managerial role within a care setting, particularly with children and young people.
  • Strong understanding of legislative requirements and care standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Level 3 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Level 5 diploma in Leadership & Management (health & social care) children & young people (or equivalent)
  • Minimum two years' experience working in social care
  • Experience leading and motivating a staff team
  • Knowledge of legislation and Ofsted requirements
  • Flexible and willing to go the extra mile
