IRIS is a product originally developed by RebusIS (International Reinsurance Insurance System). It is the leading solution for Lloyd’s, London and international reinsurance underwriters. Iris supports a wide range of reinsurance and insurance business including marine, non-marine and aviation, together with facultative and treaty reinsurance either on a proportional or excess of loss basis. Iris’ flexibility of screen design and rules-based business processing ensures that the specific requirements of each class of business are addressed.
My prestigious insurance client is looking for an individual with IRIS experience, someone from and insurance background who is a team player approaches their work with a collaborative approach.
IRIS Support Analyst – Administration, Configuration, SQL, ITIL, Reinsurance, FAC, Treaty, Lloyds, Insurance & Acord
Role:
Serve as a subject matter expert for IRIS, to include administration and configuration modifications
Triage and troubleshoot IRIS issues on both the iSeries and .Net platforms
Draft and execute SQL queries to extract information and analyze data troubleshoot system issues
Monitor IRIS system performance in order to ensure uptime for the business.
Resolve errors in IRIS through modification of configuration settings or consulting with the vendor (DXC/Xchanging) for additional assistance
Execute iSeries queries on demand for audit and control processes to facilitate operational integrity
Liaise with product vendor and IT partner teams to resolve issues as needed
Work closely with Technical Operations Team members to plan and deploy upgrades / enhancements to IRIS
Participate in migration/development projects as requested, to include Integration and User Acceptance Testing
Key member of combined IT and business disaster recovery team
Successfully process all IRIS daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly jobs
Author and maintain technical and support procedures’ documentation
Assist users with questions and issues channelled through the company support ticket process (Servicenow)
Document Servicenow ticket resolutions as well as any new processes that arise in order to provide IT with reference material for any future occurrence
SQL

Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Acord
3+ years of relevant IT work experience
Knowledge and understanding of general infrastructure components
Familiarity with data security best practices
Basic experience with disaster recovery planning
Working knowledge of industry practices such as ITIL for service management
Knowledge of the reinsurance / insurance industry is preferred
2+ years of experience with the IRIS system covering both the iSeries and GUI Front End applications; to include but not limited to IRIS System Administration, Business Customization, and Bureau Message Processing.
Comprehensive understanding of the database structure of IRIS
Proficiency with SQL within various databases especially AS/400 DB2
Some experience with AS/400 programming tools such as RPG, CL, and Query
Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, XML, and .NET
Reconciliation and analytical skills
