About the Role: 

Our client is a groundworks and civil engineering company, working for some of the largest projects in the UK. The company are currently seeking an experienced Planner to join a dynamic team based in Birmingham working on HS2. 

As a Planner, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to work with a leading construction company on a range of exciting projects. 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·      Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar).

·      Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure all activities are appropriately scheduled and resourced.

·      Identify potential risks and delays and develop mitigation strategies.

·      Prepare and update project timelines, taking into account any changes to scope, design, or resources.

·      Ensure that all construction activities comply with safety regulations and standards.

·      Communicate project progress to all relevant stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clear expectations.

·      Provide input into the procurement and resourcing plans to meet project deadlines.

·      Assist in the preparation of reports, including progress tracking, milestone completion, and resource allocation.

 

Key Requirements:

 

·      Proven experience as a Planner, Project Planner, or similar role in the construction industry.

·      Experience working on commercial, civil engineering, RC structures, infrastructure projects

·      Strong knowledge of project planning software such as Primavera P6 or Asta

·      Excellent understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and safety regulations.

·      Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

·      Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

·      A degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
