RP Senior Project Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer for one of our clients with the following details: 

Start date: 01-OCT-2024 (tentative)

End Date: 30-JUN-2026

Location: Doha / India / Oman 

Work status: Residence, Single

 ACTIVITIES

  • To promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and other COMPANY HSE procedures in all EPC activities,
  • To carry out work in compliance with COMPANY values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed COMPANY priorities and objectives, COMPANY standards and procedures and good industry practices,
  • To treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality,
  • To anticipate the offshore activities and ensure Contractor starts in due time preparation of the critical offshore activities.
  • In case of drift in schedule, liaise with other team involved (engineering, Procurement, construction, commissioning, etc.) to study remedial/ mitigation actions.
  • Promote a “no change policy” to meet budget and schedule constraint without impairing quality and safety of the EPC activities.
  • To manage assistance from shareholder specialists (remote head office), when required during all phases,
  • To assist Project Management to compile dossier and make presentation to obtain all necessary internal (validation committees TIF, TAC, CPC, CPAC) and external (Shareholders) approvals for Project contracting strategy and contract awards,
  • To manage Detailed Engineering of EPC progress including follow-up of engineering and vendor documentation reviews to ensure compliance with design dossier, SOR, Company specifications, Corporate standard and HSE regulation, international codes and classification society rules,
  • To ensure, in collaboration with various Leads that EPC engineering deliverables produced by EPC contractor are properly assigned to and reviewed by appropriately qualified Project personnel within the specified time period,
  • To participate to procurement process by ensuring on-time thorough review of bidder’s proposal in order to keep project deadline.
  • To assist EPC contract management with regards to all technical, commercial and contractual issues arising during EPC Works execution and liaise with EPC CONTRACTOR. Shall take a lead on regular basis on those matters,
  • To ensure that EPC queries / Deviations are reviewed and responded to in a timely manner,
  • To ensure implementation of the management of change process affecting EPC activities,
  • To manage potential deviations from the COMPANY referential for final decision on whether or not to implement,
  • To attend HAZID/ HAZOP/ Project Technical reviews sessions with COMPANY, Contractors and vendors teams
  • To ensure engineering support to construction and commissioning teams as required,
  • To promote alternatives solutions to reduce and to optimise the duration for offshore installation,
  • To ensure close coordination within team on all engineering, constructability and operational matters,
  • To ensure that relevant feedback from previous similar projects are considered project works performance,
  • To participate and/or manage weekly and monthly meetings with Contractor(s), and call specific ad hoc meetings as required,
  • To ensure Company participation in equipment FAT, SAT and other inspections at site/vendor premises as required
  • To participate on follow up on the Project progress and risk reporting,
  • The job holder shall, in the performance of his duties, anticipate interface-related problems and propose technical solutions. As such, he/she contributes to the achievement of project objectives in terms of schedule, cost and quality.
  • The job holder reports hierarchically to the EPCIC12 Package Manager during the EPC phase.
  • Assist Package Manager upon request on project management matters during project execution such as:
    • EPC contract management and execution
    • Active involvement on all project matters without any specific boundaries – identify critical issues proactively both within internal package team or EPC contractor side. Report promptly to the Package manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (full time) or higher qualification in any engineering discipline,
  • Experience: At least 15 years’ experience in the offshore oil & gas project with minimum 5 years’ experience in Project Engineering,
  • Experience within a project team: At least 10 years’ experience within large multinational taskforce team environment,
  • Experience in offshore facilities is preferred.
  • Available for technical missions worldwide,
  • Familiar with TotalEnergies General Specifications, MANASA, International standards and relevant codes and standards,
  • Language: Fluent English,
  • Computer literate,
  • Strong leadership skills and good communication skills,
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment,
  • Good analytical skills,
  • H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET trainings.
