Type: Contract Position, 12 weeks with the possibility of extension
Cmr is currently seeking a passionate Peer Facilitator for the In-Person Peer Support program at one of our clients, a leading not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting people of all ages dealing with mental health issues, disabilities, and those requiring community care.
Position Summary:
This role offers Carers the opportunity to share experiences and learn from one another in a supportive group setting. Drawing on peer support principles, the CHIME framework (Connectedness, Hope, Identity, Meaning, Empowerment), and reflective practice, the program enables participants to engage in meaningful conversations and work toward individual goal planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the program according to training and In-Person Peer Support Guidelines.
- Conduct group sessions to achieve program KPIs.
- Implement targeted programs for Young Carers (up to 25 years old) and adult Carers (25+).
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for Carers.
- Build positive relationships
- Work autonomously while being a flexible and supportive team member.
Requirements:
- Lived experience as a young Carer or adult Carer.
- Certificate IV or above in a support discipline and/or equivalent community sector experience.
- Experience working with young people/young Carers is a plus.
- Current valid Driver’s License.
- Satisfactory National Police Records Check.
- QLD Blue Card.
- QLD Yellow Card/NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Right to work within Australia.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
