Court of Protection Partner – Bristol

My client are a Legal 500 firm who are seeking a full-time lawyer at Partner level to lead their esteemed Court of Protection team.

The role involves handling a variety of mental capacity law matters, including deputyship applications, administration, statutory wills and gifting, property and affairs deputyship advice, welfare cases, residence care, treatment decisions, and LPAs.

This role offers strategic input and management of a diverse caseload.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the team, including strategic planning and business development
• Conduct monthly meetings and provide technical support and training
• Attend HoD and partnership meetings
• Handle recruitment, staff management, complaints, and compliance
• Advise clients on Court of Protection issues and disputes
• Act as a professional Deputy

Ideal Candidate:

• Member of the Law Society Mental Capacity Panel
• Qualified solicitor or equivalent (CPQ)
• Professional Deputy with extensive Court of Protection experience
• Team management experience
• Excellent communication skills
