Our client is currently seeking an experienced Production Scheduling Assistance to join their highly dynamic and professional team. The purpose of this role is to coordinate efficient and effective planning and raw material management across 2 plants.
The role also provides significant ongoing support towards improving operational management practices (consistent with LEAN principles). The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and energetic "go-getter" looking to develop their experience within FMCG manufacturing and demonstrate a desire to diversify their skill set.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide weekly and monthly (as well as annual) forecasts based on customer forecast and known industry/product trends
- Determine and manage resin forecast and resin order quantities to ensure there is no disruption to production and that no detention costs are incurred through excess purchasing.
- Develop fixed weekly production and rough monthly schedules for the site and liaise with production, customer service, quality, maintenance and warehouse to ensure that materials (including packaging) are available.
- Drive the development and maintenance of site RCCP (Rough Cut Capacity Planner) both monthly and annually for budgeting and medium-long range planning purposes
- Determine optimal balance between run lengths and stock levels to maximise profit/labour utilisation for the site (RCCP + E-planner)
- In addition to the above help drive discussions with commercial team around streamlining product offering to best serve both customer and site (e.g. make to order vs. make to stock, minimum run lengths etc)
- Drive investigations/resolution to slow moving stock and implement procedures to reduce instances/better manage these situations
- Review product set ups to ensure data is accurate and maintained appropriately. In addition, assist in maintaining/improving product numbering system to reduce confusion and errors both internally and between sites
- In league with other division planners, develop a clear system for mould sharing/transport that optimises sharing between sites
- Revise/develop systems for raw materials purchasing and subsequent inventory management
Qualifications/Experienced
Mandatory
- Planning experience and APIC’s qualification or equivalent
- Proven experience in supply chain management, highly desirable
- Prior experience in forecasting and replenishment software, preferred
- Knowledge of, and experience with, Microsoft 365
- Intermediate - Advanced ERP, MS Excel and SAP skills
- Desire to succeed and a passion to ‘just do it’.
Desirable
- Experience Working within FMCG and Plastics Industry.
- Procurement and/or Purchasing experience.
- Warehouse/transportation experience
- Experience in FSSC, HACCP, GMP systems.
